The hints are split into three categories. The initial one is of a general nature, progressing up to the third one which gives you the direct answer. Here you will find hints regarding the motives, alibis and the puzzles. If you need help navigating your way through the internet, then go to Hints and Solutions 2.

Are you sure you need a motive for him?
Santorio Clausen – Motive 3
Santorio Clausen has no motive. He loves his company and would not steal from it.
Santorio Clausen – Alibi 1
Have a look into his internal account and skim through his emails.
Santorio Clausen – Alibi 2
He received an email regarding the planned escape games. Solve the puzzle in order to do that.
You will also require the floor plan of the company.

Santorio was not part of the group that played the escape game in Percival’s office. The data was stolen from here, so he cannot be the culprit.
Rudolf Blitz – Motive 1
Have a look at the memos he wrote.
Rudolf Blitz – Motive 2
He wrote several memos to different people. These show his sentiments about Santorio and his future.
Rudolf Blitz – Motive 3
Rudolf would like to take over the helm of the company as soon as possible. He wouldn’t mind if Santorio made space for him at Norden-Polaris. His motive could be to get rid of Santorio. A dramatic occurrence such as this theft could play right into his hand.

He received several memos. These give rise to additional information about the evening itself.

Rudolf Blitz fell ill with food poisoning and left the party just after dinner. He was not present at the time of the data theft. He cannot be the culprit.
Donna Cupid – Motive 1

She received an email from another company which sounds a bit suspicious. What do you surmise from that?
Donna Cupid – Motive 3
Donna received an email offering her a job with the competition. She is meant to ‘prove’ herself, that she is willing and able to jump ship and take on the new job. The theft could just be the proof her new company expects of her in order to strike the deal.

Donna Cupid – Alibi 2
She received an email regarding the escape games. First, solve the puzzle to get in.
Also, you will need the floor plans.
Donna Cupid – Alibi 3
Donna was not present during the game in Percival’s office. So therefore, she could not have stolen the data. She cannot be the culprit.
Percival Comet – Motive 1
Have a look around the employees’ internal accounts.
Percival Comet – Motive 2
Percival wrote several memos to fellow colleagues. Do these incriminate him in any way? What is the impression you are getting from him?
Percival Comet – Motive 3
It seems as though Percival has got issues with Santorio. He is no longer willing to spend another Christmas in Finland, but Santorio is expecting this of him.The theft could be Percival’s way of taking revenge on Santorio, or at least prevent that he, Percival, needlessly suffer through another northern winter.
Percival Comet – Alibi 1
Have a look through Rudolf’s internal account.

Rudolf received an email from Santorio. Based on a police statement provided to Santorio, the scene is being set.
Percival Comet – Alibi 3
Percival came late to the party and he did not take part in dinner. The police surmised that the Fabergé ball ornaments were stolen while dinner was being served. He can therefore not be the culprit.
Daniela Wikken – Motive 1
Have a look around her internal account.
Daniela Wikken – Motive 2
Daniela received an interesting email. Check google to see what it means.
Daniela Wikken – Motive 3
The email cites the German Foreclosure Act. Daniela’s condominium seems to be heading towards foreclosure. One could therefore surmise that Daniela is struggling financially. Maybe she committed the crime in order to obtain the necessary means to fix her money problems.

Have a look into the emails of her fellow colleagues.
Daniela Wikken – Alibi 2
Her other colleagues received an email regarding the escape games. Solve this puzzle first to find out more about a supposed alibi for Daniela.
Additionally, you will need the floorplan of the building.

Daniela was not among the group which played the escape game in Percival’s office. The police investigation concluded that the data was stolen from there. As Daniela was not in that office at the time of the incident, she cannot be the culprit.
Unidentified Person – Motive 1
Have you got any idea who the unidentified person might be? If so, then have a look at the next hint.
Unidentified Person – Motive 2
The unidentified person is no other than Rupert Knecht, one of Donna Cupid’s clients at Norden-Polaris. There are several emails from Rupert to Donna. Have a close look at these.
Unidentified Person – Motive 3
Rupert Knecht is behind a company by the name of Green Inch. Have a look at the company’s website and you will discover that Rupert is a Christmas Hater. He would destroy Christmas for all if he could. He really DESPISES Christmas.
Unidentified Person – Alibi 1
Any idea who the unidentified person might be? If so, then have a look at the next hint.
Unidentified Person – Alibi 2
The unidentified person is no other than Rupert Knecht, one of Donna Cupid’s clients at Norden-Polaris. Have a look at the course of events that evening and check Rupert’s whereabouts during the times in question.
Unidentified Person – Alibi 3
Each time in question Rupert was present. He could easily have stolen the tree ornaments, downloaded the data from Percival’s computer, AND hidden the stolen items inside the package already designated to himself. He indeed has no alibi.
Hiding Place – Hint 1
If you are keen to understand where the stolen goods are being kept, then have a good look into Donna’s and the unidentified person’s login areas.
Hiding Place – Hint 2
The unidentified person (aka Rupert Knecht) is in possession of a tracking number for the parcel carrying his regular order.
The police have discovered that someone had gained access to the shipping bay.

Hiding Place – Hint 3
The stolen goods had been stashed in a parcel designated to be shipped to the culprit. The package is already on its way but was held up for investigation purposes in the shipping bay of Norden-Polaris in Rovaniemi, adjacent to Santa Claus Village.

Daniela had sent Rudolf a memo. Follow the respective link and transcribe what you find.

Have you figured out who the unidentified person is? If so, then proceed to the second hint.

The unidentified person is Rupert Knecht, Donna’s customer at Norden-Polaris. You can dig out his email address by looking into Donna’s emails. It is [email protected]
Deduct the following from his email address: Most company websites are a derivative of their email addresses, and vice versa. Look into the name after the @ sign.

Having reached www.green-inch.com you might recognize a few shapes which correspond to those flying around in Rupert’s password module.
Select the following symbols in the correct order to get in: right arrow, green circle, down arrow, and finally yellow circle
 If you proceed in the correct order, you will get in.
IDS Puzzle – Hint 1
Try to track the package. The internal accounts of the unidentified person and that of Donna will help you.
IDS Puzzle – Hint 2
You will discover numbers in both internal accounts… In that of the unidentified person, you will find a link.
IDS Puzzle – Hint 3
Donna’s internal account reveals the tracking number: 03559875216
Rupert’s internal account reveals the PIN number: 2412
Combine this information with Rupert’s Surname ‘Knecht’ and you will be able to put a track on the package that was sent. Unfortunately, the whereabouts of the package is not shown. a paper with the following coordinates written on it was found. With it, you just might have a lead:
